Benefits of Having a Roof Rack

Installing a roof rack on your vehicle allows you to carry massive items. May it be kayaks, sporting gear, or camping equipment, you can make the most of your Land Rover's sturdy top. Roof racks consist of mounted bars or beams with crossbars that run perpendicular to the vehicle. They’re usually made of steel, aluminum, or some composite material.

Roof Racks vs Roof Rails

Roof racks run east to west across the roof, while roof rails are mounted in a north-south direction. In general, roof rails are factory-fitted, so they can’t be used on their own. They’re suited for a lighter load, as long as you use the correct attachments. Roof racks, by contrast, let you maximize cargo weight while enhancing vehicle safety. They’re also super easy to install.

Weight Limit for the Roof of a Range Rover

For the 2023 Range Rover Sport, the maximum static roof load is 125 kg for glazed roofs. This is the permitted roof load, and includes the weight of the roof bars. Those with a metal roof are not designed to carry a roof load. Refer to your owner’s manual for more detailed information.
